Organizations across all industries are realizing the importance of leveraging data to make informed decisions and drive meaningful impact. This isn’t limited to typical businesses – it applies to organizations like non-profits, government agencies, and municipalities as well. Fastloop partnered with Montréal centre-ville, Canada's largest business improvement district, to transform their data practices and create real-time insights for their operations. By implementing an intuitive dashboard, Montréal centre-ville was able to optimize its activities, recognize future opportunities, and contribute to the economic and commercial vitality of downtown Montréal.
Montréal centre-ville, a non-profit organization with a mission to support downtown Montréal's economic and commercial vitality, faced challenges in accessing and analyzing their data effectively. The existing manual process of retrieving data from various sources hindered their ability to gain actionable insights. Fastloop recognized the need for a comprehensive and real-time data solution that would help Montréal centre-ville understand the city's health, impact their activities, and support their members efficiently.
Collaborating closely with Montréal centre-ville, Fastloop identified key metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to develop a holistic understanding of downtown Montréal's economic health. The Fastloop team consolidated data from diverse sources, including public data from Statistics Canada, Bixi Bike Share, and Google's mobility data, as well as paid sources such as Moneris credit/debit payment data and Eco-Counter cyclist and pedestrian counting. In addition, data from member surveys conducted by Montréal centre-ville was incorporated.
The resulting data dashboard provided Montréal centre-ville with an intuitive and easily understandable tool to visualize information effectively. With the ability to manipulate the dashboard, Montréal centre-ville could analyze specific areas or metrics within downtown Montréal or gain a broader perspective of the city's core. The dashboard empowered them to make data-informed decisions, challenge assumptions, and share valuable insights with their members, contributing to their members' ability to make decisions based on real data.
The implementation of the Fastloop-powered dashboard brought several benefits to Montréal centre-ville. Firstly, they gained access to higher-quality and fresher data in real-time, a significant improvement over their previous quarterly reporting cycle. The ability to monitor changes and trends enabled them to take quick action and respond promptly to the evolving dynamics of the downtown area. Moreover, the dashboard facilitated a better understanding of the data through visualizations, allowing for pattern recognition and clear inferences. By achieving data self-sufficiency, Montréal centre-ville significantly reduced costs previously associated with outsourcing quarterly reports and hiring survey companies.
The success of our collaboration with Montréal centre-ville demonstrates the potential value of data-driven solutions for various jurisdictions. As cities face new challenges due to changing work patterns and travel behaviors, access to real-time data becomes crucial for ensuring economic health and promoting development. Fastloop emphasizes the importance of being agile and prepared for change, as the ability to identify and respond to shifts early on is key to future success.
Fastloop's partnership with Montréal centre-ville exemplifies the transformative power of leveraging data to drive real impact. By providing an intuitive dashboard with real-time insights, Fastloop enabled Montréal centre-ville to optimize its activities, support its members effectively, and contribute to the economic vitality of downtown Montréal. As organizations increasingly recognize the competitive advantage and value of data-driven decision-making, Fastloop continues to empower businesses and communities with analytics and AI services that deliver insights, outcomes, and sustainable growth.
