About the Opportunity:
The Technical Consultant – BI & Analytics is responsible for identifying the existing relationships across enterprise-wide entities, crossing multiple disparate systems, and identifying the best approach for modeling data in the data warehouse/data lake. The approach should balance performance, flexibility, and complexity in its design, and enable the data to be utilized in a variety of analytics initiatives, including but not limited to baseline reporting in BI platforms to advanced analytics.
The successful candidate will be responsbile for the following activities:
BI Development
Facilitate data and visualization requirements
Develop dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI, Tableau and Looker Studio
Demonstrate dashboarding best practices
Perform data validation and QA duties
Data Analysis & Data Modelling
Data discovery, data analysis, data models development
Lead or participate in technical data discovery sessions, attend client meetings, contribute in driving the overall project outcomes
Demonstrate a strong proficiency in data management best practices
Demonstrate a strong proficency in SQL to query and build data models
Client and Project Management
Coordinate with other project team members, track deliverables, manage tasks and deliverables
Work collaboratively with client stakeholders
Documentation & Training
Develop technical documentation, training materials, and support knowledge transfer activities.
Collaboration
Be able to communicate and collaborate across technical and functional roles and departments for successful outcomes.
What you'll need to succeed:
- 5+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a similar analytical role.
- Strong proficiency with Data Modelling from conceptual modeling to logical data model design and implement physical data models
- Knowledge of data visualization tools and BI platforms
- Advanced proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation
- Strong experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
- Solid understanding of various data modelling methodologies (e.g. Kimball, Inmon)
- Proficiency in Python for data analysis
- Experience working with large datasets and modern data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks).
- Familiarity with ETL processes, and data pipeline design is a plus
- Experience in retail marketing or digital marketing is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics or a related field.
